Paracetamol
Indications/Uses
Fever; symptomatic relief of minor aches, pains & discomfort associated w/ common colds, flu, innoculations, vaccinations & tonsillectomy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Caplet Adult 1-2 caplet 3-4 times daily. Max: 8 caplet/day. Childn ½-1 caplet 3-4 times daily. Syr Childn 6-12 yr 2-4 tsp, 1-5 yr 1-1½ tsp, <1 yr ½-1 tsp. To be taken 3-4 times daily. Drops Childn 12-23 mth 1.2 mL, 4-11 mth 0.8 mL, 0-3 mth 0.4 mL. To be taken 3-4 times daily. Forte syr Childn >6 yr 5-10 mL, 1-6 yr 2.5-5 mL. To be taken 3-4 times daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hepatic dysfunction.
Special Precautions
Renal or hepatic disease, CV or haematological disorders.
Adverse Reactions
Skin rashes or other allergic reactions.
Drug Interactions
Alcohol, oral anticoagulants, chloramphenicol, phenobarb.
